One and a half skeins of naturally dyed worsted weight accompanies a free soaker pattern designed by Michelle Guilmet-Buck who has been enthusiastically knitting soakers with Peace Fleece for several years. She is a talanted and creative designer who is generously letting us pass along these patterns to you free of charge. We have been doing some natural dyeing here in Porter, Maine and are happy to offer you a limited amount of these kits. We also have Classic Soaker Kits with our regular worsted weight yarns. | Dawn Brocco Cabled Family Socks Here's a well written pattern with sizes for the whole family. We are very pleased that Dawn enjoys working with Peace Fleece. Here are some recommendations quoted from her pattern. "I've reworked this classic design in Peace Fleece. I am SO pleased with the new Peace Fleece merino wool blend. It is so soft and cozy to knit with- I enjoyed every stitch, and that's not only due to the soft merino blend but also the resilience of the yarn. If you plan on using these socks in boots, I'd recommend reinforcing the heels and toes, with a sock reinforcement, like Fortissima Socka, which comes on cards, or Jawoll reinforcement, which comes on spools. Or wear them indoors, inside slippers or slipper socks." |

| "Best Booties I ever made," says Melissa Greene of Deer Isle, Maine. "They don't kick off and they act as leg warmers." These are great for the newborn. They just slip on and you gently tie them to keep them snug. Modeled in the shape of the Russian Valienki boot, they are also perfect for that special newborn that is ready at 2 weeks to head out into the snow for a day of exploration. Kit comes with 4 colors of worsted weight yarn and instructions (for worsted and DK Sport.) We have had good results using sizes 3 and 5 needles for both weights of yarn. Colors are carried following a chart. Ties on booties are braided. Feet are knit in thick garter stitch. |
